Writing Strategies For Students, Proper Modeling Is...

Writing strategy In order to teach essay writing to students, proper modeling is required for essay formats and analysis. A form that teachers can utilize in the classroom is the TEEL (Technique, example, effect, link) model (See Appendix 2.). However, students will work in groups to construct their understanding of textual themes and features that are explored in Life of Pi (Outcomes 2, 5, 12A). There are also a variety of different interpretations that exist in the text such as the dystopia created by power and lack of freedom as well as the struggle to be free. By exploring this text in an all girls’ school, students are able contrast the representations women in the text such as the control over a woman’s body and sexuality as well as socia l circumstances through Huxley’s early 20th century context. The text is set in London, where society has become industrialized and controlled by a social construct of a â€Å"World State†. This concept provides insight into the ambitions of humans and that politics is so powerful that it can influence the way society acts. There is an obvious dystopia created around the segregation of humanity and the politicalShow MoreRelatedAncient Egypt7342 Words   |  30 PagesAncient Egypt This unit is designed to allow students to explore concepts surrounding Ancient Egypt.
